These chisels are made by a highly respected cutting tool manufacturer in the Czech Republic and are of exceptional quality. The blades are made from fine-grained, nicely tempered chrome-manganese steel and hardened to Rc 59. Bevels are ground at a 25 degrees. Blades are 3 3/4 inches long and are a full 1/4 inch thick toward the handle adding strength and making them easier to control. Handles are stained European Beech, are 3 inches long and have a flat on the back to prevent rolling off the bench. Overall lengths are 6 3/4 inches Blades have well-seated heavy steel tangs and handles have solid brass ferrules to withstand vigorous mallet work. The blades take and hold an excellent edge. The blades are accurately ground and the sides are ground at a sharp bevel ending to a very narrow landing on each side, providing excellent sidewall clearance when working in the angled corners of dovetails. As with all edge tool, they will need final honing before use. These chisels are an excellent value in a good quality tool.
